Tinc Productions and Propared are hosting a week long Management Intensive this summer. The curriculum is designed to offer skills and experience for managers in the arts transitioning from an academic setting into the professional world.

The week’s goals are to:

  • Explore the landscape of live events, including the opportunities available to managers, and the variable production processes and job roles across a variety of live event types.
  • Explore the definition and foundational principles of management and discuss differences and similarities of management across differing industries.
  • Explore the nuances of running your career as a business with a deep dive into the personal, social and business challenges of managing people in high stress situations.
  • Create a model for handling conflict and interpersonal communications which will include hands on work with expectations setting and presence and presentation skills.
  • The seminar will be a mix of classroom, onsite, and participatory activities. Eat your breakfast, because there’s going to be a whole lot going on.

June 1 – June 5, 2015

Additional locations will be provided as we go.

Expected Hours:
3 hour sessions / 2 sessions per day
9am-12pm / 2pm-5pm
We request that full days be set aside as there may be both daytime and evening activities.

Housing:
Attendees are in charge of finding their own accommodations

Dress Code:
Dress code is casual. We’re getting real, so come as yourself. Onsite days may entail a specific dress code (i.e., stage blacks, or business casual) but notice will be given prior.
Fees:
$100 materials fee (payable via check, credit card or transfer)
